Early voting has begun for Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District elections, giving voters the opportunity to cast their ballots ahead of the November 5 general election. The early voting period will run from October 18 to October 29, 2024, excluding Sundays, with polling locations open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
Presidential Electors on the Ballot
The ballot also includes the selection of presidential electors, with Louisiana carrying eight electoral votes in the 2024 presidential election. The state has two at-large electors and one from each of the six congressional districts. Presidential candidates do not have numbers. When a voter selects a candidate he automatically votes for the elector for the district to cast a vote for the choice of the state on December 17, 2024.
