680 voter mixup in City Council corrected by Registrar

Nearly 700 voters were temporarily excluded from the eligible voter list for the upcoming District 4 Monroe City Council primary election, scheduled for March 23rd. The error, which affected primarily white voters following recent redistricting changes, was quickly identified and corrected by the Ouachita Parish Registrar of Voters, Isabelle Butler.

The oversight came to light last week when candidates for the District 4 seat, including Councilman Carday Marshall and Rev. Rodney McFarland, noted discrepancies in the voter lists.
