Ruby G. Stanley Richard was born on December 19, 1934, to the late James and Annie Bell Carson Stanley in Sterlington, Louisiana. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Shilo Baptist Church in Sterlington, Louisiana. She graduated from Myles High School and attended Robinson Business College.
