Funeral services for a pioneer educator and businesswoman in the Monroe Community will be held Monday at the New Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Services for Fannie Smith Reed, 94, will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the New Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Mrs. Reed died on February 1, 2024.
Mrs. Fannie Smith Reed was the only child born to the union of James Smith, Jr., and Ruth Daniels Smith on March 14, 1928, in Collinston, Louisiana. In her early years, the family relocated to Monroe, Louisiana. She lived in Monroe for most of her life until her health declined. During…
