My Christian Friends,
While recently celebrating the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, hopefully there were individuals who understood the significance of what Jesus did for us. Undoubtedly, sermons were preached with the determination to bring lost souls to Christ. As always, Jesus, our risen Savior, is the reason that we celebrate “Easter Sunday”.
Knowing what He has done for us should bring such a joy to our hearts-not just on Easter Sunday, but every day of our lives.
It is important that we do not casually worship Him and see “Easter Sunday” as just another day to join hands with our friends and families but to honor and praise God for what He did through His Son, Jesus. Prayerfully, there were lost souls who were convinced through God-given messages that Jesus is the Son of God.
Interestingly, the centurion soldier was convinced that Jesus is the Son of God. After the death of Jesus, he said, “Truly, this was the Son of God!” Are you convinced that Jesus is the Son of God? There are people who are not certain that Jesus, God’s Son, actually walked this earth and did the miraculous signs and wonders. Let me serve notice, the Bible teaches us that He did. He suffered the ultimate death and rose the third day morning.
Read God’s Holy Word: Matthew 27:45-54
Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” And some of the bystanders, hearing it, said, “This man is calling Elijah.” And one of them at once ran and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine, and put it on a reed and gave it to him to drink. But the others said, “Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to save him.” And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit.
And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
Are you convinced?
Jesus Saves!
