Former Monroe broadcaster to retire

Longtime broadcasting executive Cheryl Olive has announced her upcoming retirement, capping off a stellar 34-year career in the television industry. Olive, who currently serves as the Director of Sales for KSLA News 12, will officially step down on September 2, 2026.

Olive began her distinguished career in 1992 as a Media Executive at the FOX affiliate in Monroe, Louisiana.

Her leadership quickly propelled her to Local Sales Manager before she relocated to Shreveport in 2002. She later served as Vice President and General Manager back in her hometown of Monroe in 2008, following a stint as Director of Sales in Pennsylvania.

Throughout her career, Olive held key leadership roles across Oklahoma, Texas, and ultimately returned to Shreveport, spending her final five years with Gray Media at KSLA.

Affectionately nicknamed “Hall of Fame” by colleagues, Olive leaves behind a legacy of mentorship and community service.
