The Ouachita Parish School Board named Arnor Ford, a veteran educator who now serves as assistant principal of Ouachita High School, as the school’s new principal.
That selection doesn’t sit well with Richwood Alumni or the board’s lone Black member, Reverend John L. Russell.
The Richwood alumni favored James Aubrey who is an assistant principal at West Monroe Jr. High.
Ford, as assistant principal at Ouachita, will be dealing with generally the same students he has helped supervise and lead at Ouachita since most Black Ouachita students will be transferred to the new school. In addition, the school will have 7th and 8th grade added to its program, all in the same complex.
