The 17th annual Black Rodeo was held Saturday night at the Monroe Civic Center as more than 300 cowboys and cowgirls competed in traditional rodeo events.
Thousands of excited fans turn out each year for the event which raises about $2,000 for the city O.K. Kids program as well a promotes family oriented fun and entertainment.
The activities included tailgating opportunities and a parade.
The show was in the stands as a virtual who’s who in the community showed up for the event.
Reigning over this year’s event was TyTiana Roy, Miss Rodeo.
