Brown: Over 1,100 signatures on Kema Dawson recall petition

The move to recall Kema Dawson-Robinson from the Monroe City council is growing; as of this week, more people have signed to remove her than voted to elect her two years ago.

According to Marie Brown, the driving force behind the recall, the Dawson recall petition has 1,110 signatures with just over three months remaining.

  About 1900 signatures will be needed to force a recall election in Dawson-Robinson’s District 5. The committee has six months to gather the required signatures.

Dawson-Robinson won election in 2020 with 962 votes of the 1,837 votes cast.
