Monroe, LA – The Monroe Fire Department and Monroe Police Department have successfully concluded their annual Back-to-School Supply Drive, delivering a large collection of school supplies to Monroe City Schools. The donations were officially presented during a press briefing held last week at the Public Safety Center, with Dr. Harrington Watson and Dr. Brian Bush accepting the contributions on behalf of Monroe City Schools.
The donations were made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Monroe Fire Department and Monroe Police Department Unions, reflecting their unwavering commitment to supporting the community. The collected supplies will be made available at the Monroe School Board Central Office, where they will be dispersed to families in need throughout the school year.
“The Monroe Fire and Police Departments have once again demonstrated what it means to serve our community.” said Mayor Friday Ellis. “By helping our students start the school year equipped and ready to learn, they are making an investment in our future. I am proud of their commitment to our children and our city.”
