Monroe City Schools has begun receiving the first of 20 new electric school buses, marking a significant step towards greener transportation for the district.
According to Lonnie Hudson, the assistant director of transportation for the district, the buses are being delivered, with some already having arrived.
Each of these state-of-the-art electric buses costs approximately $400,000. However, thanks to a substantial grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the district did not bear the financial burden for these vehicles.
