The Monroe community mourns the loss of a beloved spiritual leader as Pastor Inez Walker, 73, transitioned peacefully to her eternal reward on January 13, 2025. Known for her tireless dedication to faith and service, Pastor Walker left an indelible mark on all who were blessed to know her.
Funeral arrangements are currently incomplete under the direction of McFarland Funeral Homes.
Born July 7, 1951, in Monroe, Louisiana, Pastor Walker was the daughter of the late Louis Torrence and Nancy Matthews. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, T.A. Bolton and Inette Earl Bolton, whose memories she cherished throughout her life.
Pastor Walker was the founder and Overseer of Refuge Healing International Ministry Incorporated, Chapter 1, a sanctuary for spiritual healing and growth. Under her visionary leadership, the ministry became a beacon of hope and a place of refuge for countless individuals seeking faith and guidance. Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Walker reached a wider audience as the host of Watch GOD, a weekly television program where she passionately delved into the Word of God. Her teachings inspired viewers throughout the region, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to spreading the Gospel.
Her profound compassion and powerful prayers resonated deeply, cementing her legacy as a spiritual mother, counselor, and guiding light to her church family and the broader community. Her impact extended far beyond her ministry, as her teachings of love, faith, and perseverance touched the hearts of many.
Pastor Walker is survived by her six children: Thomas Walker (Maureen), Sherita Williams (Shundell), James Walker, Theallas Walker, Timothy Jenkins, and Shemika Walker. She also leaves behind two brothers, Sammy and James Torrence, twenty grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, as well as a loving church family who will carry forward her legacy of faith and service.
