Court says Council can remove “76 cents a Gallon Man” from SEDD Board

The Monroe City Council has the right to remove the “76 Cents a Gallon Man” from the Southside Economic Development Board.

That was the ruling of 4th District Court Judge Alvin Sharp last week after the SEDD board challenged the city council’s right to remove one of its members.

In its last City Council meeting, the council passed over a resolution to remove Karl Dhaliwal from the SEDD Board of Directors. The council delayed its attempt to remove Dhaliwal after Judge Sharp suspended any action until he gave an official ruling.
