Man gets caught trying to cash a fraudulent check
On Thursday, November 16, 2017, according to the official report, a West Monroe Police officer was dispatched to 2211 North 7th Street, West Monroe, La in reference to an individual attempting to cash a fraudulent check. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the suspect, Diamonta Bailey, and advised him of his Miranda Rights. The officer was then approached by the assistant manager of the establishement, Elizabeth Beinkemper, who handed the officer the fradulent check. The check was a business check for North Pro Landscapping and was paid to the order of Diamonta Bailey for $945.16.
Beinkemper advised the officer that North Pro no longer uses their bank and that the account was closed. The officer asked Baileyi where did he get the check and he advised the officer that he got it from a Tommy subject. Bailey later changed his story and said he got the check from a Frank subject. Bailey advised the officer that the Frank subject asked him to cash it for him. Bailey stated that he was supposed to get $20.00 or $30.00 from Frank for cashing the check. The officer placed Bailey under arrest for monetary instrument abuse and he was later transported to OCC.
Victim of buglary holds suspect at gunpoint
On Friday, November 17, 2017, according to the official report, Ouachita Parish Sheriff deputies were dispatched to Plum Hill Rd. in reference to a buglary in progress. The caller advised that the suspect, Tommy Foster, forced entry into her front door and is in her living room. The caller stated she had him at gunpoint. Before OPSO’s arrival, Foster fled the scene and was headed toward West Monroe in a black Ford truck. The deputies met the truck at the end of Plum Hill and performed a stop on the vehicle. Foster was seated in the front passenger seat and refused commands to exit the vehicle.
Two deputies removed him from the vehicle and secured him in restraints. Once restrained and in the patrol unit, a deputy spoke to the complainant. The complainant advised she was sleeping in the back room and heard a loud bang. When she got up she grabbed her rifle and walked into the living room. That is when she saw Foster walking into the kitchen. Foster stated “they are going to kill me”. The complainant pointed the gun at Foster and attempted to detain him until OPSO’s arrival. Foster was able to flee the scene through the same door he forced entry. Because Foster admitted to being under the influence of bath salts, the deputies had AMR check Foster and clear him. While attempting to put Foster back into the vehicle he began to kick two of the deputies in the chest and legs. It took six total deputies to force him back into the vehicle. Foster was transported and booked into OCC on the charges.
Man steals items from mom’s house
On Tuesday, November 14, 2017, according to the official report, at 0804 hours, a West Monroe Police officer, responded to a residence in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the victim who stated her son, Lamar Wiley, had stolen a DVD player from her, and thinks he had stolen other things from her. The victim provided paper work, where Wiley had sold her DVD player on September 6, 2017. The victim stated that she believed that Wiley was currently in her house because she occaisonally finds him in her home.
The victim stated that Wiley no longer lives in her house, and his is no longer allowed there. Another officer located Wiley sleeping in a guest room. The original officer arrested Wiley and advised him of his Miranda Rights, which he stated he understood. When asked, Wiley stated he was aware he was not allowed to be there, and he does not currently live there. When asked, Wiley stated he did not steal the DVD player and the other items from his mother. When the officer mentioned him pawning the DVD player, he admitted to stealing that item. Wiley continued to deny stealing the other items. Wiley stated he stole the DVD player the same day he pawned it. The officer arrested Wiley for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling for entering the house today and theft for stealing the items while he was leaving there in the past. Wiley was then transported to the West Monroe jail. The officer later transported Wiley to OCC, where he was booked for the charges.
Women pulls drugs from vagina while in custody
On Monday, November 13, 2017, according to the official report, a Monroe Police officer was at 700 Wood St. booking Jessica Ross on a warrant for her arrest. Ross advised that she had to go to the restroom. The booking officer allowed Ross to use the restroom in the finger print room. While in the restroom, the officer advised that Ross removed a small clear plastic bag that contained suspected marijuana from inside of her vagina. The officer again advised Ross of her Miranda Rights which she again said that she understood. Ross advised the officer that the marijuana was not hers. The officer again placed Ross in handcuffs and transported her to OCC. The suspected marijuana was logged into MPD evidence.
Couple gets into fight at the Waffle House
On Sunday, November 19, 2017, according to the official report, at approximately 0143 hours, a West Monroe Police officer was dispatched to the Waffle House in reference to a disturbance. A Waffle House employee stated that Michael Cain punched his wife, Kassie Daniels. The victim stated that her husband pushed her into a glass window causing a laceration on her lip, which the officer observed. The officer advised Cain of his Miranda Rights in which he understood.
The officer placed Cain under arrest and transported him to the West Monroe Correctional Center for processing. Cain showed two previous domestic abuse battery arrest in 2012 and 2013. Cain stated he has previously pled guilty to domestic abuse battery. Cain also showed a protective order with the victim being his wife, Daniels. Two Waffle House employees stated that Daniels punched her husband, Cain, in the back after a physical altercation. Cain stated his wife punched him in the back. Daniels was advised of her Miranda Rights in which she stated she understood. Daniels admitted to punching her husband at the Waffle House. The officer placed Daniels under arrest and transported her to the West Monroe Correctional Center for processing. Both Daniels and Cain were transported to OCC for booking on their charges.
Man hits his head on patrol car window
On Thursday, November 16, 2017, according to the official report, Ouachita Parish Sheriff deputies responded to an intoxicated subject at the Magic Grill. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim who stated that Eric Crowe, struck the side of her vehicle with a closed fist causing a small dent on the left rear quarter panel above the wheel well area. While speaking to Crowe, he became increasingly belligerent with deputies. Crowe continued to yell out and use profane language in the presence of the public. Crowe continually stated the words “f**k” and “p***y” in an extremely loud tone. The deputy approached Crowe and advised him to lower his voice for concern of the public. Crowe, using his left hand, pushed the deputy in the right forearm area. Crowe was given a verbal warning to calm down and to keep his hands to himself. Crowe looked up form lhis seated position, and using an outstretched left arm, pushed the deputy in the right arm a second time with his left hand. Crowe was placed under arrest, handcuffed and placed in the patrol unit. While collecting remaining information, Crowe began to slam his head into the right rear door window of the patrol unit. Crowe was placed in a hobbie strap so he could not harm himself or damage the patrol unit. Crowe was transported to OCC for booking.
Man gets arrested while being served papers
On Monday, November 13, 2017, according to the official report, while serving an arrest warrant on Shaunteryous Robinson at 3000 DeSiard St.; the officer smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from his person. He was placed in handcuffs and advised of his rights per Miranda. Robinson advised the officer that he did have marijuana in his Mercedez Benz CLS500. The vehicle showed a positive odor response.
The officer obtained a search warrant for the vehicle since Robinson didn’t give verbal or written consent to search the vehicle. Once the warrant was signed, the search warrant was executed. The officer located a Taurus 9mm pistol on the seat with a small back pack that contained a plastic container with suspected marijuana with a digital scale in working order. Robinson was transported to OCC for booking.
