Qualifying for the November elections ended last week as candidates registered to run in various races around the area. Those qualifying in predominately African-American Districts are:
DISTRICT JUDGE, Division G
Qualifying for the unexpired term of former 4th District Judge Carl Sharp were: Aisha S. Clark of 220 Oregon Trail; and Marcus Hunter, 900 St John Street, Monroe. The seat became vacant when Judge Carl Sharp announced his retirement effective this month. The District G seat is a special district created to insure black judges on the court.
