During Tuesday night’s live NAACP candidate’s forum, Chuck Cook, a candidate for Sheriff, leveled two startling accusations at his opponent, Marc Mashaw. Cook claimed that Mashaw has been running ads taking credit for the inception of an at-risk youth program called “DMAC.” He also alleged that the deputy behind the program had not been promoted in 29 years. These claims sent shockwaves through the community since social media, print and broadcast media have been flooded with ads insinuating that the DMAC program was the brainchild of Sheriff Jay Russell and Marc Mashaw.
