Family and friends are preparing to bid farewell to Elder Clyde Brown, Jr., who passed away on July 11, 2024, at the age of 75.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at LoneWa Worship Center. A visitation is scheduled for Friday, July 26, from 6 to 8 PM at McFarland Funeral Home.
Elder Clyde Brown, Jr. was born on July 7, 1949, to Mary and Clyde Brown, Sr.
He accepted Christ at the young age of nine under the leadership of Reverend H. Levi McClendon, III at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, Illinois.
His lifelong commitment to his faith and community left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
Elder Brown is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Brown, Sr. and Mary Louise Brown; his daughter, Demetria Brown; his brothers, Melvin and Stephen Bond; and his sister, Yvonne Marie Curtis.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his family and friends.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Joan Brown; his daughter, Tina Brown; his sons, Seth Brown, Terrell (Cynthia) Brown of Fairview Heights, Illinois, and Earnest William; his sister, LaWanda Kaye Bond of Decatur, Illinois; his brother, Sherman Brown of Decatur, Illinois; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
