Funeral services for David Harris will be held Saturday at the Greater Free Gift Baptist Church at 11 a.m.
Harris died of undermined causes while in Monroe Police custody last week.
His obituary is as follows:
David H. Harris was born February 9, 1970, in Monroe, Louisiana to the late James Long and Palleen Long.
He accepted Christ at an early age.
David was a wonderful and loving father, brother, and friend. He would do anything for anybody. David departed this life on April 3, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Palleen Long; and his sister, Moline Long.
He leaves to cherish his memories: three daughters, Da’Kedra Jones, Ladaizya Tillman, and Jamaya Bailey; four sons, David Green, David Ruff, Ladaveon McFee, and Daijour McFee; three sisters, Jonetta Long, Carmelitha Long, and Brandy Brown; three brothers, Antonio Long, Christopher (Tywanna) Long, and Peter Long; seven grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
