Danny Lester Wilson was born January 27, 1954, in Monroe, LA. He was the only son of Stacy Ralph and Juanita Long Wilson. Danny has three sisters, Jacquelyn Long Wesley Jones of Monroe, Stacie LaVonne Wilson Dickerson of Arlington, TX, and Prince Ella Wilson Brown of Lewisville, TX. Danny passed away on July 10, 2020, in Arlington, TX, after complications from a fall.
Danny graduated with the Class of ’72 from Richwood High School, where he enjoyed being a member of the RHS marching band, “rocking that tuba.”
After graduating from high school, Danny joined the U.S. Army. He served as a security guard for the Farm Workers Union in Oakland, CA. In 1981, he moved back to Monroe, LA, and worked as a supervisor for Monroe Bottling Company. Danny later joined with his dad, Stacy Wilson, as a distributor of the Monroe Free Press.
The last ten years of his life, he resided in Arlington, TX, where he enjoyed being around his younger nieces, nephews, and sisters. Danny was a member of the Koinonia Christian Church in Arlington, TX.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Derrick O. Brown. He leaves to cherish his memories, his three sisters: Jacquelyn Long Jones, Stacie Dickerson (Ray), Prince Ella Brown(Ron); one niece, Sterling Raye Wilson Dickerson and children, Zaire and Suede; four nephews: Reginald Wesley (Yolanda) and children: Courtney, Keadra, Reginald, Kyron, Paiyton; Michael Wesley and children: Kyla, Christopher, Jayden, and Mason; Marcus Brown (Nicole) and children: Sydney and Cameron; Derrick O. Brown’s sons: Priest and Roman; Roddry Dickerson (Tai) and children: Sean, Jordan, and Jada; John Hendrix (a friend, like a brother) and a host of loving friends from Danny’s Claremont Apartment community in Arlington, TX, Lincoln Park Subdivision, Richwood High School, and the Riverside Nursing Home.
Danny left a positive imprint on this earth, especially through is smile.
