She credits much of her experience and skills with opportunities given through Grambling State University’s Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society, Social Research Club, Gerontology and as one of the first coordinators for the Black Apprenticeship Empowerment Program (BEAP).

Sometimes people come into your life to help you meet your full potential while just pursuing their dream of loving on people!

Dr. Lawana Gunn, Dr. Frances Staten, Mrs. Inetha Wimberley, and Ms. Grace Tatem, MSW.

Today I honor Dr. Frances Staten for all she has done at GSU for the past 30 years! Dr. Staten put me in places to expose me to my potential and continues to see me furthering my reach. She has dedicated her life to students, social research, community, and much more. And is such an inspiration!!!

Many of my college friends knew that I was given opportunities to travel, make professional presentations, coordinate youth empowerment, visit elderly for social research for ingredients to long life, etc. She helped my curiosity of other cultures, my own culture, and social impacts. She kept me busy alot during my matriculation at Grambling.

These pictures represent her inducting the last of her tenure as the official Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society Sponsor before her retirement and passing the baton to the “New Beginning” Inductees. If you know her, you know she can’t stop here. Stay tuned!

Help me welcome her into the next phase of loving on people and congratulating and thanking her for her sacrifices and persistence for those of us who pass through her tutelage!!!
