Henry Bonner, Jr. one of the great architects and visionaries of the African-American community died last week at the age of 98 years old.

For nearly a half century, Bonner helped shaped the thinking of our community with respect to healthcare and housing.

Affectionately known as Dr. Bonner in most circles, Bonner’s unique sense of professionalism, attention to detail and personal diplomacy successfully helped expand services in local health facilities reaching out to all but especially including the poorest and minorities.
