Roosevelt Wright and Joslyn Wright were honored last week in a reception at the African-American Museum, saluting the couple for producing the African-American Heritage Dramas at the Monroe Civic Center for over 40 years.
The Wrights shared the spotlight with many of the adults who helped promote the dramas either as cast members or support staff. Wright said the assembly of old cast members and youth who are now adults was like a “Heritage Drama Reunion.”
The heritage dramas were produced from 1979 to 2020 and were halted after the COVID-19 pandemic.
