Hundreds of seniors turn out for Jackson-Tew party

Hundreds turned out Wednesday for the annual Christmas Party for senior citizens at the Monroe Civic Center.

The party, sponsored by Senator Elect Katrina Jackson and friends was free and open to persons 50 years old and above.

The seniors enjoyed a day of fellowship, food, dancing and door prizes courtesy of Jackson, and District Attorney Steve Tew.

Louisiana Lt. Governor, Billy Nungessor, the featured speaker told the crowd about Louisiana’s rich flavor, culture, and beauty. He said the entire state has much to celebrate during the Christmas season.
