Monroe police are investigating yet another murder in Monroe as the infamous “murder of the week” scenario seems to be returning.
This murder happened on February 26, 2021.
According to the Monroe Police Department, the murder happened in the 1200 block of South 8th Street.
Monroe police responded to the shots fired call. When they arrived on the scene they located the victim, Reginald Copning, who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound, according to the police report.
According to the report, Copning was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Funeral Service
The funeral service for Copning 28, will be at the Graveside at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Richwood Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 5-7 Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Smith Funeral Home under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
