Jackie Slack to seek city council seat against Ezernack

Retired educator Jackie Slack will officially announce her candidacy for Monroe City Council at a press conference Tuesday, December 10th.

Slack is a former school principal, community advocate, and is presently employed with the City of Monroe as the chairman in charge of the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)/minority
program. She works with contractors, division heads, and other civic leaders to ensure opportunities are afforded without bias.

She said Wednesday,  “On City Council, my goal will be to help keep Monroe beautiful, sustainable and attainable for all. My desire is to see us not as North Monroe or South Monroe, just as the great City of Monroe!”

She will make her formal announcement at 6:00 PM at the Hampton Inn & Suites,on Tuesday December 10th.  Mrs. Jackie S. Slack will be hosting a Press.
