Former Mayor Jamie Mayo will officially declare his candidacy for the position of Mayor of Monroe next week, setting the stage for a highly anticipated campaign that he says will “Make Monroe safe again.”
The announcement is scheduled to take place during a public event on August 24, 2023, at The Tabatorium, located at 311 N. 9th St., from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
With a career steeped in public service, Mayo enters the mayoral race with a commitment to address the concerns of Monroe’s residents head-on. The campaign will be grounded in three core priorities: Economic Development, Education, and Crime Prevention.
