In 1967 Joe Profit was one of the first two blacks on the ULM football team. He was a star running back then, and 52 years later he is still running, not on the football field but for Congress as a Republican.
In 1967 Profit was running—and setting records— as a running back at Richwood High School and Northeast Louisiana State College. Today, Profit is a self-made millionaire, who went on to success in the NFL, and later earned a doctorate degree.
Now he is running for Congress in Georgia’s 7th Congressional District.
