Monroe Mayoral candidate Fred Louis was among several groups that ministered to the homeless this week.
Louis is a part of a ministry called “Street-Wise Ministries, Inc.” that volunteers to bring meals to the homeless on a regular basis. Louis has been a part of the ministry since its inception. It attempts to provide meals to the homeless as well as warm clothing during the winter.
The group meets under the Desiard Street Bridge and helps men and women they encounter with encouragement, food and referral services.
