Louisiana may finally overturn old slavery era law

Late Monday, the Louisiana Legislature sent a proposed constitutional amendment to the governor requires persons accused of a crime to be convicted by a unanimous jury verdict. 

  Rep. Katrina Jackson said Monday the bill is on its way to the governor for his signature.
