Another man has been arrested for murder, this time in the quiet West Parkview neighborhood.
On Monday, April 5, 2021, shortly after 2:30 a.m., MPD says officers responded to a shooting in the 1600 block of Crescent Drive. MPD says the shooting activated the Shot Spotter detection system sending officers immediately to the scene.
According to police, Rakeem Newell was found on the scene and had been shot several times. He died reportedly as a result of his wounds.
Antavian Rucks was identified as a suspect and subsequently arrested and charged with one count of second-degree murder.
