Man charged with two counts of raping live-in partner

A Monroe man has been arrested on two counts of rape and domestic abuse of his live-in partner.

Monday, Monroe Police conducted a welfare check on an alleged female victim at 4105 Gaston Street. Based on accusations of the victim and visual confirmations of bruises on her body, Dangelo Marquez Burgess was arrested and charged with one count of 1st degree Rape, one count of 2nd Degree rape, false imprisonment, domestic abuse by strangulation, domestic abuse by battery, and simple criminal damage to property.
