Man indicted on Federal firearm charges

A federal grand jury has indicted Tristan Barber, a 20-year-old Monroe resident, on multiple firearm charges related to a shooting incident on March 29, 2024. United States Attorney Brandon B. Brown announced the indictment on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

Barber faces two counts of possession of firearms by a convicted felon and two counts of illegal possession of a machine gun. The charges stem from incidents on March 29 and April 16, 2024, when Barber allegedly possessed a Glock Model 22 Gen 3 .40 caliber pistol and ammunition, despite his status as a convicted felon.
