Mayo makes another public appearance at ribbon cutting

Another Afro-Centric business has opened in Monroe, this time on Forsythe Avenue. Many dignitaries were on hand for the ribbon cutting of Goin Postal, a postal and package company, located at 1800 Forsythe Avenue. Among the many personalities present was former Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo.

Mayo has been out of the public eye for two years, but recently his appearances at a City Council meeting, a black community planning session, and other public events, are hinting that there might be something more coming.

Before the Council, Mayo made headlines when he said the city’s decision to give $2.5 million to Rep. Micheal Echols was giving money to a single “one man city” to the neglect of others.
