McCarty named principal of Neville High School

Mickey McCarty has been named principal of Neville High School, replacing Christella Dawson who retired on May 22.

    McCarty, the second-winningest coach in Neville history, compiled a 197-43 (.820) record in 18 seasons, behind only legendary coach Charlie Brown. Under McCarty’s direction, the Tigers captured four Class 4A state championships, tying the mark set by another legend in Bill Ruple.
