MLK Parade rolled Down Desiard Street, kicking off Black History Month

The annual Martin Luther King, Jr. parade brought its usual pageantry and celebration to Monroe on Saturday, despite a smaller crowd due to a weather-related date change and a new route.

Traditionally held on the MLK holiday, this year’s parade was held later than usual due to inclement weather, which forced organizers to reschedule the event.
