Monroe Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi celebrates 50 years of achievement

The Monroe Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity hosted its Kappa Dinner for wives, sweethearts, and Kappas. The event featured fellowship, music, food, and an opportunity to celebrate brotherhood and achievement.

Ross Betha welcomed those in attendance and set the tone for an evening designed not around business or reports, but around fellowship.

“Tonight is not a meeting. It’s not a report. It’s not business to conduct. Tonight is an assignment to enjoy, “ was the message shared with the brothers and guests.

Jerry Ward offered the opening prayer and blessed the meal. His prayer reminded everyone that while they were gathered around a table to share a meal, they were also gathered around something much greater – friendship and a shared commitment to the community.

One of the evening’s most meaningful moments came when three brothers were recognized for reaching an extraordinary milestone: 50 years in the brotherhood of Kappa Alpha Psi.

Oscar Brooks, Donald Cole, and Larry Doyle were each presented with a white blazer in recognition of their five decades of achievement, service, and leadership.

Fifty years of brotherhood speaks to consistency.

It speaks to commitment.

The dinner also provided an opportunity to recognize the wives and sweethearts who have supported the brothers throughout their Kappa journey. The evening included a sweetheart song, photographs, and music.

Ibra January provided closing remarks. The program closed with the Kappa Hymn, bringing the evening back to the foundation upon which the gathering was built: brotherhood.
