Muhammad announces plans to seek District 5 council seat next year

The 2024 campaign for city government positions is a year away, but candidates are lining for positions in Monroe government.

This week Verbon R. Muhammad, Sr. announced his plan to run for city council in District 5.  The district 5 seat is presently held by Kema D. Robinson.

Muhammad, a former President of the Monroe City School Board, is the minister of Mosque #99 of the Nation of Islam and serves on various boards and committees in the city.
