Former Monroe City School Board member Verbon Muhammad, Sr., will run for the Police Juror District F seat currently being held by Mrs. Anna Reed.
Reed was selected to fill the unexpired term of State Rep. Pat Moore until elections this fall.
Muhammad said his platform will address Infrastructure of Road & Bridge repair, Drainage & Flooding, Improved Lighting throughout South Monroe and Richwood, Crime & Safety and will work with business, community and state and local government leaders to attract businesses to South Monroe and Richwood.
Muhammad says “District F is prime for Economic Development as we have had seen growth in all areas of Ouachita Parish from Calhoun to Sterlington to Swartz to certain areas of Monroe & West Monroe, it’s only proper to see the same growth take place in District F.
“As your next Police Juror, I will be your voice and a pacesetter for those who reside in District F. I’m asking for your prayers, support and more importantly your vote,” he said.
Others who have indicated that they will run for the seat include: Rev. Micheal Thompson, pastor of the Olive Branch Baptist Church, and Rev. Lonnie Hudson.
