It’s getting to be so routine in Monroe that shootings and murders are not even mentioned at Monroe City Council meetings. Instead of addressing its crime problem, city leaders Tuesday night focused on promoting a Southside clean-up campaign and the availability of trash bags.
At Tuesday’s council meeting, not a word of sympathy was spoken for violence victims or neighbors who are being terrorized by the never-ending “murder of the week” scenario.
