NAACP opposes Berry as school board president, sellout claimed

Daryll Berry has been named President of the Monroe City School Board in a controversial vote that the NAACP says does not reflect the interest of the students of the system.

Berry, who was nominated and supported by the Board’s two white members, was opposed by three of the board’s black members.

Ambrose Douzart, President of the NAACP, attempted to speak against Berry’s election because Berry’s track record as a board member has been opposed to the interest of the community he represents.
