Norfolk Virginia authorities are investigating the death of a Monroe man who died Tuesday, apparently as the result of self-inflicted wounds.
Mi’key Reese, a 2012 Neville High School graduate, and a member of the United States Navy was found dead, an apparent suicide victim. At last report, Reese held the E-4 rank.
On social media as of 11:22 p.m. Monday night he posted, “For those who I hurt, I’m sorry. Sorry, is the best word. I thought I was stronger than this.”
The death comes as a surprise to those who knew Reese because life seemed to be looking up for him. He had recently joined a fraternity and just this month announced that he was entering college.
He is the father of two children.
