Monroe Mayor Friday Ellis was sworn in as Mayor of Monroe on Tuesday along with other Newly elected council members.
Mayor Ellis said he had “high hopes that there will no longer be a North or South Monroe. Let’s no longer be a tale of two cities,” he said.
Also sworn in were: Kema Dawson, councilwoman for District 5; Gretchen Ezernack, councilwoman for District 2; and Juanita G. Woods, councilwoman for District 3.
