Pine in National Secretarial pool

Shirley Wilson Pine has been a professional secretary all of her life and even in retirement, she is still using her skills.

Pine was the first Black superintendent’s secretary of the Monroe City Schools and has served in secretarial capacities in both the district, state, and National Baptist Convention.

As thousands of Blacks converged on Baltimore Maryland this week, Pine was in the secretarial pool, hard at work in the Dean’s office.

Here she pauses for a moment to greet Joslyn Wright, from The Tabernacle Baptist Church in Monroe.
