Police investigating reported “hit” on councilwoman, Theus fired after reporting

Monroe City Police are investigating a complaint filed by a Monroe man who claims that two officers of the South Southside Economic Development District made threats of violence against a Monroe City Councilwoman.

  Charles Theus former executive director and office manager of the Southside Economic Development District said Tuesday, that after he reported alleged threats of violence made by the board’s former President and secretary against councilwoman Juanita Woods he was fired.

  Theus was fired at a special called meeting of the SEDD Board on September 22, 2021.
