Powerhouse coaches leave legacies that live forever

In the heart of Monroe and Richwood, where Tuesday and Friday lights shine and gymnasiums throb with the roar of packed stands, there lives a story not just of wins and losses—but of legacy.

The residents of Monroe, Richwood, and beyond speak their names with reverence: Jesse Burnette. Casey Jones. Terry Martin. Three basketball coaching titans whose footsteps have left an unshakable mark on high school hardwood across the state.

Though one has passed on, the other two remain—still coaching, still winning, and still pouring wisdom into the lives of young men and women who wear their schools’ colors with pride.
