Residents file suit, asks court to void MLK site choice

East Parkview residents filed suit Tuesday to void board decisions about the location of the new MLK school on grounds that the board violated the Open Meetings law by using a procedure for public comment that attempts to sidestep the law.
Residents of the Parkview neighborhood have filed suit in 4th District Court to void a decision by the Monroe City School Board that locates the site of a new school facility in an area prone to flooding their homes.
The suit was filed by attorney Kevin H. Johnson on behalf of John Ethel Minnifield and Jesse Smith, residents of the Parkview neighborhood.
The suit seeks to void actions taken at public meetings to locate a new Martin Luther King in an area next to Woss
