Residents of District 4 in South Monroe gathered on Saturday, July 8th, to discuss the selection of a “Model Neighborhood for South Monroe.” The meeting, held at St. James United Methodist Church and organized by the Southside Economic Development District (SEDD), aimed to gather input from residents, pastors, officials, and the NAACP regarding the proposed development plans.
The SEDD’s plan involves creating three model neighborhoods as a representation of its vision for the entire South Monroe area.
A SEDD committee had recommended an area off Jackson Street, but during the meeting, however, residents unanimously expressed their desire to change the location.
