Richwood aldermen concerned over police chief’s ethics, expenses

The police chief of Richwood has been arrested for domestic violence in another parish and is a suspect in another violent behavior complaint, but he remains in charge of the Richwood police department, a fact which has caused a rift between the town’s mayor and its board of aldermen.

Wilbert Reed, Jr., mayor pro-tem, of the Town of Richwood, said Chief Johnny Cleveland’s unresolved felony charge mandates that, at the least, he should not be patrolling the streets of Richwood until the matter is resolved.
