Property owners in Ouachita Parish may not have noticed it, but it has become costly to pay property taxes late; in fact, some late payers could pay as much as $200 per delinquent property under new tax collection rules.
One citizen who is angry about the undisclosed per property collection fees is Brenda Roy.
Roy says she was upset last year when she learned she had to pay a $100 collection fee for a property tax she owed that was still outstanding by February 1st.
