Funeral services for a prominent church “Mother” will be held this weekend.
Services for Hazel May Millage Jones, 67, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Greater Free Gift Baptist Church.
She was a sainted “Mother” of the Greater Free Gift congregation.
Her official obituary reads as follows:
Mother Hazel May Millage Jones was born on April 17, 1955, to Queen Ester Crosby and Grady Millage in Alto, Louisiana.
Mother Hazel was a beloved member of the Greater Free Gift Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Bishop Rodney McFarland, I. She served as the chair of the Bishop’s Care Committee and was a part of the Mothers’ Ministry.
Mother Hazel was married to James Jones.
She passed away on August 10, 2022.
